How does RYDA prepare vehicles for hurricane season?

All Miami fleet vehicles are stored in indoor, elevated, climate-controlled facilities. During named storms, additional storm shutters and continuous monitoring engage.

Year-round

All Miami vehicles are stored in indoor, climate-controlled facilities elevated above the FEMA flood zone. Standard storage conditions hold humidity at 45–55% and temperature at 68–72°F. Year-round, this protects against humidity-related corrosion, paint deterioration, and electronics issues.

During hurricane season (June–November)

  • Daily NOAA monitoring; alerts trigger preparation protocols 96+ hours before landfall projections.
  • All vehicles relocated to interior bays, away from facility perimeter.
  • Storm shutters engage on all storage facility windows.
  • Backup generators tested and ready to maintain climate control during power outages.
  • Active member bookings during the warning window are recalled and refunded.

After the storm

Each vehicle gets a post-storm inspection (humidity check, electronics test, full visual inspection) before bookings resume. Affected members get priority on rebooking.
