Can I take the car out of state?

Within the contiguous US, with notice. Inter-market transit between RYDA cities is built-in. Outside the operating market, advance approval and an extended-trip rider apply.

Day trips and same-state travel

Day trips and overnight travel within the home state of the vehicle are unrestricted, drive to the Keys from Miami, drive Pacific Coast Highway out of LA, take a vehicle from NYC up to the Hamptons. No special permission needed.

Inter-market transit

Members in good standing can request inter-market transit with 14+ days notice, say, taking a Miami-based Ferrari to LA for a week. RYDA arranges enclosed transport (member-paid) or escorts a road-trip drive. Insurance follows the vehicle automatically.

Long-distance road trips

Trips of 500+ miles or 5+ days outside the home market require an extended-trip rider on the insurance and a route filing with RYDA Operations. We don't restrict the trip, we just document it for coverage. Approval typically takes 2–3 days.

Mexican and Canadian border crossings are not permitted on insurance. Period. If you want to cross either border, contact us, we may be able to arrange specific vehicle and rider combinations, but it's a separate process.
