What if a passenger gets hurt?

Passenger medical and bodily injury are covered by the $1M liability policy. Your personal auto medical-payments coverage (PIP/Medpay) may also apply.

Passenger injuries are a real risk in any vehicle, especially exotics where an at-fault crash can produce significant injury claims.

What the RYDA policy covers

  • Passenger bodily injury caused by the vehicle owner's negligence: covered under the $1M third-party liability.
  • Passenger medical bills if at-fault: covered up to policy limits, claims filed by RYDA on behalf of the LLC.
  • Passenger UM/UIM if not at-fault and the other party is uninsured: covered up to $500K per the UM policy.

What it doesn't cover

  • Injuries caused by your own willful misuse (street racing, intoxication, etc.).
  • Pre-existing conditions of the passenger.

Practical advice

If a passenger is hurt during a booking, call 911 first, then RYDA Service. Don't move them unless safety requires it. Don't admit fault. Document everything as you would any accident scene, the insurance carrier handles the rest.
