Can I take the car on a road trip?
Yes, that's part of what these cars are for. Trips of 500+ miles or 5+ days file an extended-trip rider. Long-distance is a great use of a co-owned exotic.
Why road trips work well
Many of RYDA's most-used member experiences are road trips: Miami-to-Keys, LA-to-Sequoia, NYC-to-Newport. Modern exotics are surprisingly comfortable on long-distance, adaptive suspension, climate control, modern infotainment.
What's needed
- Trips of 500+ miles or 5+ days: file an extended-trip notification with Service 14 days in advance. Insurance documentation, route filing, mid-trip support pre-arranged.
- Mileage budget: long road trips can eat into your annual 3,200-mile allotment (100 mi/day × 32 days). Plan accordingly or pay the $4/mile overage.
- Cross-state borders: insurance covers all 50 contiguous states. Mexico and Canada need a separate process.
Practical advice from members
- Plan fuel stops on premium-fuel station maps in advance, not every interstate exit has 93 octane.
- Plan storage: hotels with secured indoor parking are dramatically nicer than hoping for street parking with a Lambo.
- Bring a USB-C cable. Modern exotic infotainment is iPhone-default but cables are car-specific.
- Tell Service ahead of time if you'll be far from cell coverage. They want to know if something happens.
