Can I track / drift / launch the car?
Drag strips, drift events, and launch control on public roads are not covered. Spirited canyon driving is fine within reason.
What's allowed
- Track use is excluded under our standard insurance, RYDA fleet vehicles are not approved for track events.
- Spirited driving on public roads, using the powerband, enjoying corners, normal performance driving within posted limits.
- Launch control on a closed track. Multiple manufacturers (Ferrari, Lambo) actually require periodic use of launch control to keep transmission systems calibrated, but only on track or private property.
What's not allowed
- Drag racing (sanctioned drag strips not eligible, manufacturer warranty issues + insurance coverage gap).
- Drift events, gymkhana, autocross without proper rider and approval.
- Sustained high-RPM driving on public roads (street racing, pace runs).
- Launch control on public roads (insurance won't cover transmission damage from this).
- Modifications to disable traction control, ABS, or stability systems.
Why we care
Aggressive use damages the asset (clutch wear, brake wear, transmission stress) and the cost falls on all co-owners through the next round of valuations. Worse, it's a fast track to voiding warranty and insurance coverage. We're not anti-fun, we're pro-keeping-the-asset-valuable for everyone in the group.
