KYC verification, what we collect and why
Government ID, selfie match, address proof, clean recent driving record. Required before any co-ownership buy-in or member booking. Verified through Persona, RYDA never sees raw documents.
What we collect
- Government-issued photo ID (US driver's license, passport, or state ID).
- Selfie image for biometric match against the ID photo.
- Address verification (mailing address, used for billing, statements, and DMV records).
- Date of birth and SSN last-4 (for OFAC sanctions screening).
Why we collect it
Two reasons: (1) insurance, we add you as a named insured to the vehicle's policy, and carriers require verified identity and a clean recent driving record; (2) operational, misrepresenting identity voids coverage and breaches the Operating Agreement.
Where it's stored
Documents are processed by Persona (or equivalent third-party). RYDA never sees raw ID images. We retain only the verification result, ID type, name, address, and DOB, encrypted, in our member system.
Sharing
We don't share KYC data with anyone except (a) insurance carriers when adding you to a policy, (b) state/federal regulators when legally required, and (c) the new co-owner's verification flow on a member-to-member share transfer (limited fields, with your consent).
